History:
We are a sports club, with a controlling committee. The key positions are President, Treasurer, Secretary, Junior Coordinator and Team Coaches/Managers. We meet on a regular basis (normally monthly) with the objectives of ensuring the club is soluble, represented at CMHA, and all necessary playing requirements are met.
The Clubs primary objective is to provide a safe, healthy, friendly, competitive, social environment for anyone to come along and enjoy participating in hockey (playing, coaching, umpiring, managing or supporting). We have a culture of fair play and healthy club and team spirit.
The Senior Club comprises 6 Teams in 2010, (nominally three men’s and three women’s teams). Normally two of the senior teams are development teams (one woman’s and one men’s). A significant number of the senior players are active parents within the club, supporting children/teenagers playing hockey and other sports, and are involved with junior coaching/managing.
The Junior club comprises 6 teams in 2010, from Kiwi through to Elite grades. Juniors have a strong emphasis on fair play, enjoyment and developing players. We have a combined premier team with ACG Strathallan to provide a second premier team for players from both ACG Strathallan and PUHC.
We have recently adopted a constitution June 14th 2010, and have become recognised as an Incorporated Society and registered with the Charities Commission.
We have recently entered a combined Mens Intercity team with the WaiauPa club, another first for the club.
